New belt silly smile

Ants and Boys

Libby came running in the other morning, "The top of the stairs is covered in ants!!!"

I told her to just put out the ant traps and I would take care of it later.

When I finally emerged from my room I find Henry sitting among the ants, crumbling up a cracker for them to eat.

Sigh

We are such Dorks

Dork Diaries 3: Tales from a Not-So-Talented Pop Star

They had the new dork diaries book at the store, so i let Libby get it. She was so excited she started reading in the car
She wants to play with a friend and read her book but I told her she couldn't until she finished her chores. I go out there, she is reading instead of working. Sounds like something I would have done. :D I hate punishing them for reading. Just seems backwards.

Mary Jane Gibson

Here are some of the pictures that were taken while we were in the hospital. M.J. wasn't even a day old when they came in to do them. They turned out so cute we broke down and just bought the CD. Some of you have already seen them and you will recognize them if you get the birth announcement.

Sidney's 2nd Birthday

Sidney turned 2 last Monday. We aren't having her party till later so I will put up those pictures sometime soon.

Sidney seems to have no fear. She will try anything, except food, get into anything, and does not care if she gets yelled at. We can be screaming at her to stop something and she won't even flinch.

Sidney gives great hugs and kisses though not always when you want them. We have to beg and plead sometimes.

Sidney likes to take roll. Often she is asking, "Where Yibby go? Where Ditty go? Where Daddy go?" She is also very concerned about others. If you sneeze or cough or if anyone is crying she gets a very concerned look on her face and will ask, "Mommy, you k?" She will keep asking until someone answers her.

Sidney LOVES to dance. When Aunt Katie was in town one night we all sat down to watch America's got Talent. There were a lot of musical numbers in that episode and she was having a grand time standing up and clapping for everyone and singing and dancing along. She really is quite entertaining.

Sidney has a lot of energy, and can talk your ear off. Most of it is still gibberish but it is fun to listen to. She loves to talk on the phone too. Anything can be a phone. She loves to just put her hand up to her ear and talk to Grandpa, or as she says Baba.

If you ever take Sidney to the store with you be prepared to talk to a lot of people. She says Hi to EVERYONE. Mike took her to Lowes with him the other day and people had to start ignoring her because even though they had already said hi back she just kept saying hi!

She is learning new things every day and surprising us with the new things that she can do for herself. She also likes to be like her brother and sister. If they are working on their workbooks she wants to be coloring or looking at flashcards like them.

Sidney loves her new sister but can't decide if she is just a baby or if she is really Mary Jane. I will ask her if that is Mary Jane and she will say, "No! Baby!"

We love Syd and love having her in our family. She keeps us laughing and looking for the good things in life.

Happy Day Sidney!

Family Photo Shoot March 2011

Mike's brother Jon came to town back in March and very graciously did a photo shoot for us. As you look at them you have to keep in mind that I was getting very pregnant, Sidney was more than ready for a nap, and Jon has his two sons with him who were also ready for a nap. It was a very entertaining photo shoot and the pictures turned out fabulously considering all that we were dealing with at the time!

My 2 yr old going on way more than 2

Mike took the two older kids to church and left Sidney in bed and me with Mary Jane.

Sidney of course woke up.

I went in to get her and I asked her if she needed a new diaper. She said yes, and she needed to go potty. So I grabbed a diaper and the wipes and headed for the bathroom. She grabbed a shirt and pants. Guess she wanted to get dressed.

We get in the bathroom and she sits on the potty, still nothing. But then she insists on taking a bath. We have done this a bazillion times.

This time I got her all wet, she doesn't much like the water on her head anymore. I put some shampoo on her head and before I can get there to wash her hair she starts doing it. And she did a good job of it. When did she start doing this herself?

I get her loofah all ready and she just takes it and does an awesome job of washing her body. Did I miss something? Did someone teach her to do this or did she figure this out on her own?

They grow up too quickly.
