Varried Futures

I am sitting here wishing people would put things on their blogs so that I could have something to read online. Then I realized that I haven't posted in a long time. So maybe I should give others something to read when they want to kill time :D

The other day on the drive home the kids were talking again about what they want to be when they grow up. Libby was saying that she either wants to be a hairstylist or a scientist. Mike says that reminds him of when I told him at one point I either wanted to be a math teacher or a hairstylist myself. She also mentioned that when she was student of the week she had a substitute teacher who told her that when she becomes a hairstylist she would come to her. Libby mentioned that she was considering changing her mind but she doesn't want to let that sub down!

They got talking about their options and some things that came up were:
-A dog trainer
-A train caboose
-A dinosaur trainer
But it was mentioned with the dinosaur trainer that you shouldn't let him eat you, especially if he was hairy. (Wow!)
It was also mentioned that they don't know anything about training dogs but they could probably learn how to train dogs.

I hope that my kids keep their options open. They are always adding to their options. I also love that their options are so varied. Kids, if you ever read this then I want you to know that you can be WHATEVER you want.

MLK Day

Dad: Who was Martin Luther King?

Libby: Well, he wrote a song. Some people didn't like it so they got a gun and shot him.

This was after she prayed and thanked Heavenly Father for the people that invented Martin Luther King Junior Day, so we could celebrate his birthday.

Libby: 7 yrs

So her birthday isn't until Saturday but while I am at it I had better do it or I will never get around to it:D

Libby is growing up so fast. She is taking Piano lessons and catching on quickly. In the past year she finished up Kindergarten with flying colors and started First Grade. She is loving it so much that over this break she keeps talking about how much she misses her teacher.

She is reading chapter books and really likes reading Boxcar Children with her dad. She is also really good at Math and has started figuring out how multiplication works. She also really likes Science. She recently said that when she grows up she will either be an artist or a scientist.

Libby has also decided that she LOVES Fancy Nancy and has requested being able to make her room fancy like Nancy did in a book that she got for Christmas. So we have gotten her a couple things to help with that for her Birthday.

Libby is a VERY good helper with her siblings and just with things around the house in general. She is usually very willing to help when asked.

She also likes to watch movies but will put them away to quickly get her homework done or practice piano. Some of her favorite shows are Word Girl, Super Why, Cyberchase, and Fetch!

(If you are reading this and thinking I am crazy cause you guys don't care about all of this I am mainly doing this as a journal or a way to look back and remember my kids at these points in their lives. You can also call it the lazy journal.)

Sidney 6 Months

Sidney is finally up to 13 lbs. 5 oz
She is all the way up to 7% for her weight, 23% for her head size, and 12% for her length!

She LOVES playing on the floor, smiling at anyone that will look at her, grabbing things especially hair, and chewing on toys. She is eating food really well and so far likes Carrots, Bananas, Peaches, and Rice cereal. She is also amazing at clicking her tongue. She is so good at it that when she starts everyone around her can't help but start clicking their tongue in response. She has us trained well!

She is still a really good sleeper, sleeps through the night, doesn't complain nearly as much when she is in the car seat but still loves you if you get her out.

Her bottom front teeth have been really close to breaking through for a while and the first one did so the day before she was 6 months!

Her dad is so amazed at how well tempered she is. She never cries unless she REALLY needs something. And she smiles more than any other baby he has ever known except for the other two of course :D People will stop us to tell us about her big blue eyes or just have to rave about how cute she is. She will definitely have us wrapped around her little finger as she can win us over with her grin.
