I like to read LDS fiction. I know there are lots of other things out there but I am a sucker for a good clean romance or mystery. Easy way to almost guarantee it is good is to head over to Deseret Book or Seagull Book. I have become so predictable that Mike was even able to get me an autographed book once when the author happened to be there. And you always know for Mother's Day or my Birthday Mike just takes the kids to one of the previously mentioned stores and they all pick out a book. Mike likes this because it generally means that he will then have free time/computer time. Usually I can't put a book down until it is finished. I am trying to be better so that they last longer and I am not putting us in the poor house buying books. I have tried to use the library but the wait lists for the new books can be REALLY long. And I have pretty much read every book they have on hand.
I want to tell you today about a book I just finished. I know this isn't something I normally do but it was GOOD! I have started criticizing the books I read. I sometimes have a hard time getting into them and starting trying to figure out what it is about that book that just isn't quite hooking me. Some books just talk about conversations, I think to save time. I like conversations. But then there are books that have pointless conversations that make it take FOREVER to get to the point.
This book, like I said, was GOOD. I figured out the "twist" as soon as it came up. I almost think we were supposed to be able to figure it out, but I am not sure it was intended. I was ok figuring it out as I noticed things and were watching how it made the characters interact. There was another surprise that I didn't catch and wish I had! Oh well.

There is one thing that keeps coming back to me and I wish I knew the answer. I don't think this gives anything away about the book but if you don't want to know just stop reading here.
There is a point where Ashley gets a ticket for being parked on the street during street cleaning. Matt apologizes saying that he should have warned her but he forgot. He says that he is willing to pay the ticket but she ends up just shoving it in her glove box. That is the last you hear of it. It just seemed like a significant thing that might have gone somewhere, but went no where. I wonder what the author was intending with that. Probably something that didn't pan out. So, why she left it? Just to give them a different conversation? Who knows, I just want to know! I really did enjoy it. If you live close you can borrow it if you would like.
